Only countries where personnel data for each branch of the armed force is available are listed.
In this list of counties, Taiwan has the 9th largest Army personnel per capita with 10.4831 per 1,000 people which is the largest of all maritime countries. The second highest is United Kingdom with 1.88448 per 1,000 people, more then 5 times smaller in proportion compare to Taiwan.
** Strictly speaking United States is a continental country, but because both of its land boarders with Canada and Mexico are not militarily defended it is able to devout larger proportion of it resource in to naval and aerial assets similar to an maritime country.
